Michael Leavens is a professional trumpet player based in the Chicago area. He began his musical studies at the age of seven, under his father’s direction, in his hometown of Tacoma, Washington. During Michael’s collegiate experience at Roosevelt University in Chicago, he studied with Mark Ridenour of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Michael is a former member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and has performed with various musical ensembles including numerous Broadway shows, Tower Brass Ensemble, Lakeshore Brass Quintet, the South Bend Symphony, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. He loves to play in variety of musical styles, including but not limited to: classical, jazz, funk, pop, and rock.
